The Implementation of 4Dframe to Develop Students’ Creative Thinking on The Topic of Ecosystem Stability

Abstract

Indonesians produce millions of tons of garbage daily, making it becomes one of the top garbage-producing countries in the world. In the other side, the crisis energy becomes a big issues in Indonesia because of the limitation of energy sources. Based on both problem, the students triggered to solve these problems. This project attemped to develop creativity of the students by STEAM project. Creativity is one of the skill that student needs to have in the twenty first century. Therefore, this research combined two problems into one solution Rubbish Steam Engine Generator (RuSteam-G). Basic concept of RuSteam-G is hot steam from fuel gas resulting from burning waste is used to convert water in the boiler into steam. This steam is used to turn turbines that produce renewable energy in the form of electricity. 4D method is invited into this project. The students attempted to make the prototype of RuSteam-G using 4Dframes based on the equipment given. This learning activity has a big purposes on supporting net-zero for one planet that is related to sustainable development goals number seven and eleven. The result showed that students develop creative ideas in creating RuSteam-G to create Net-Zero for One Planet.
